In this post, we will provide you probably with not so traditional apple pie recipe.

It is a simple recipe which you can prepare in a few minutes so it is an ideal dessert for every day.

Dutch Apple Pie


  • 1kg of Apples (try to choose not sweet apples, such as Renette apples)
  • Pastry (to make it faster, I bought the pastry in the shop)
  • 75g of raisins
  • 3 tablespoons of cinnamon
  • 20g of walnuts (this is something extra which you don’t have to add)



Preheat the oven 180 Degrees.

Prepare a baking tray with parchment paper and spring flour on top of it.

Place pastry on the tray and add something to avoid to blow the pastry.

In this case, I used chickpeas to put some weight on the pastry.

Place pastry in the oven for about 5 min.

Meanwhile, peel and slice apples.

Mix sugar, raisins and walnuts in a separate bowl.

Add apples and mix all together.

Add the mix on the pastry. If you had some pastry left, you could use it later to decorate the pie.

Place all mix to get ready for baking

Add the rest of the pastry as decoration

Brush with beaten egg to have a nice crust.

Place the pie into the oven and bake it for approx 60 – 70min.

At this moment, your house is smelling so nicely that you just want to eat the cake.
