Top Hamburgers in Cagliari: My Must-Try Spots

I’ve wanted to write post about the best burgers in Cagliari for a long time.

The reasons are simple: I am originally from this island, I grew up here, I studied in the city, and even though I have lived far away, over time, I have witnessed the gastronomic changes this beautiful city has undergone throughout the years.

Yes, because Cagliari, year after year, is becoming a cosmopolitan city where many tourists choose to visit for its beauty, and at the same time, many people from different cultures decide to stay for various reasons.

These people bring their customs and traditions, contributing their small part to this cultural and gastronomic transformation. And with tourists, social media, and passing trends, new establishments emerge, catering to an increasingly diverse audience eager to enjoy globally popular dishes, such as burgers.

Here are the best burgers in Iceland, which we have all tried and highly recommend:

I remember that just a few years ago, the only places serving burgers were street vendors (the paninari or, for locals, the caddozzoni), found in different parts of the city, such as near Poetto (Cagliari’s beach), at certain events, and always before and after a football match.

Recently, many places offering burgers have opened in Cagliari, some considered gourmet, others with a more rustic style. With so many options, it has become increasingly difficult to navigate in the right direction and find a truly great burger.

Well, that’s where I come in, with my humble opinion (though I must admit, I am a burger lover). After trying many spots, here’s my list of what, according to my taste, are the best burgers in Cagliari.

Best burgers in Cagliari -The menu of mordi storie di carne

MORDI STORIE DI CARNE

We’re starting strong, because Mordi Storie di Carne is the kind of burger that everyone loves. Their menu is simple, what we would call in Italy “senza fronzoli” or, in other words, no frills (at least in appearance). But don’t be fooled, because their burger has everything a great burger should have: high-quality meat, classic fresh vegetables, rich sauces, and a soft bun.

What more could you ask for?

Now you’re starting to understand why I said this is a burger that pleases everyone. Personally, I loved it. It tastes like the burger I’ve been eating all my life, but with that extra touch of quality that makes you say: “This is the place I need to come back to if I want a great burger.”

It’s so popular among both locals and tourists that they currently have four locations: two in the city and two in nearby towns (Quartucciu and Capoterra).

So, what do you think? Getting hungry already?

BOMBAS HAMBURGERIA SARDA

If you’re looking for the perfect balance between a great burger and an authentic taste of my beloved Sardinian land, this is exactly the place you’ve been searching for.

I really appreciate the work they do here: homemade burgers made exclusively with locally sourced ingredients, a careful selection of seasonal produce, the best cuts of meat, and flavor combinations that, more often than not, are an absolute hit.

There are four things I absolutely loved about this place, aside from the burgers (which, of course, are the main reason to go): their craft beers, the homemade-style chips they serve instead of classic fries, their delicious homemade desserts, and last but not least, the incredible venue they chose for their restaurant, worth visiting for the atmosphere alone.

BIERBAUM 1599 BEER & BURGER – best burgers in Cagliari

The kind of coincidences we love.

Mika and I stumbled upon this place by chance while looking for a spot to grab a drink before dinner on one of the city’s most iconic streets. Not only did we find a great selection of craft beers, but also one of the best burgers in Cagliari.

The truth is, the meat was cooked to perfection, and the sauces and seasonings created a harmony of flavors that’s hard to find elsewhere in the city.

If I had to point out one downside, it would be the fries: while it was clear they were homemade and freshly prepared, they were a bit too soft. I imagine that if they improved this minor flaw, it would be, in my opinion, the best burger plate in Cagliari.

That said, it’s a small issue that doesn’t affect the quality of the burger itself.

All in all, a pleasant surprise in burger form.

Dry hop = good beer = happy Mika

 DRY HOP

The burger joint that’s trending among locals. If you ask someone in the city where to find a great burger, chances are they’ll point you to Dry Hop in Cagliari.

Their decision to use pure Sardinian ox meat seems like a winning choice, along with the perfect balance of flavors and a solid selection of craft beers. I’d recommend making a reservation because if you show up without one (especially in the city center), you’ll likely end up leaving empty-handed.

I really like their menu, and on one of my visits, my burger was well-cooked and quite tasty.

That said, I’d advise avoiding peak hours because when the kitchen and service teams are overwhelmed, the experience might not be as great as expected (and this happens in 90% of popular places).

A true local favorite when it comes to burgers.
