1.What is the best time to visit Keukenhof Gardens?– Tulip garden Netherlands

First, you should be aware that Keukenhof Gardens are open only two months a year when the tulips are in bloom.

This year, 2024, Keukenhof Gardens will be open from March 21 until May 12, inclusive.

During this period, it’s hard to say what is the best time to visit tulip gardens; however, based on the last few years, the best time is the last 2 weeks of April and the first week of May. Again, it really depends on the weather, which is very variable in Holland, so just make sure you come during the two-month period when it is most suitable for you.

2.How to get there? – Tulip gardens near Amsterdam

By car

Keukenhof, the best tulip garden in the Netherlands is located near Amsterdam city and is easily accessible via motorways A4 (exit Nieuw-Vennep) and A44 (exit 3, Lisse).

Just follow the signs ‘Keukenhof’. There is a large parking slot available at the entrance for a small price per day.

If you don’t have your own car, you can always rent a car through Auto Europe as they offer a great comparison of deals so you can easily choose the best price for your rent.

By Public Transport

If you don’t have a car, you can easily travel from Amsterdam to Keukenhof by express bus. This option is quite popular, as you can save money by buying a special combi ticket. The Combi ticket is convenient, and we truly recommend it, as it includes both your return bus fares and entrance to Keukenhof. You can also avoid all the lines at the Keukenhof entrance.

With the Keukenhof bus, you can easily travel to the tulip gardens from cities like Amsterdam, Haarlem, Leiden and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.

If you come from Amsterdam, the best option is the bus 852 that you can catch near RAI Station. 

This bus, 852 in 2023, departs eight times a day from Europalaan in Amsterdam.
