For many countries, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It will give you energy for the full day and for us we definitely need to start our day with a proper breakfast.
For Simone (as being Italian) the classic breakfast would be espresso and croissant. In Spain people used to drink coffee and pastry or sandwich with ham (Iberico Ham if possible) or potato omelette.
Living in Barcelona for 11 years, we visited many places where to eat so in this post were are going to recommend you the best breakfast and brunches places in this amazing city. We will recommend you places with a different price range so you can plan ahead how much you want to spend for breakfast or brunch.
Personal Tip for visitors: Barcelona is famous for its scams mainly on the streets, so we would strongly suggest having some travel insurance to at least be safe and secure.
It took us a while to find places with a good coffee and great croissants, so here is our personal list with the best places for brunch and breakfast in Barcelona.
Recommended: If you come to the city for the first time, we always recommend taking Eating Europe Food Tours so you can discover the classic dishes.
Where to eat Breakfast in Barcelona
Hofmann is a famous Pastry shop located in Born. You can find here some incredible croissants (the mascarpone or raspberry are our favourites) and delicious cakes.
We also recommend a different version of tiramisu which is incredibly tasty (and this is what Simone is saying being Italian). There are no tables inside of the shop so it is more for taking away but you will find a small corner where you can enjoy all the delicatessen on the spot.
Tip: The other day we found a small bar where you could enjoy the same variety of croissant and cakes like in Hofmann just a few meters away.
