Where Is Bali Located on the world Map and how to get there?

This post may seem a bit funny, at least in the title, but still, believe it or not, it seems that many people don’t exactly know where Bali is located.

We were peacefully enjoying the (slow) life that the Moroccan Atlantic coast offers when we overheard some travelers talking about their trips counting how many countries they had visited. In this list, they mentioned Bali, then Indonesia, and more countries around the world.

At that moment, we realized that some people still don’t know where Bali is located, and they’re not very knowledgeable about geography. Perhaps it’s due to the distance this beautiful island is from Western countries, or maybe, they want to feel more like explorers by counting more countries than they’ve actually visited.

In any case, for these and various other reasons, we decided to write this post about where Bali is located on the map and how to get there. Happy reading…

Let’s start with the most interesting question and the reason why you’ve probably come to this post, and that is: Where is Bali located?

Bali is an island located in the Indonesian archipelago and is situated precisely in the middle of two other islands; to the east is Java, and to the west is Lombok.

And this question is to dispel any kind of doubt: Is Bali a country?

Although it is often referred to as the “Island of Bali” and can be confusing, we clarify that Bali is not an independent country but rather a province of Indonesia. So, you need to be clear that when you go or have gone to Bali, you are, in fact, heading to Indonesia.
